Uninterrupted supply of natural gas to Slovenia

Published 17. 6. 2014

Ljubljana, 16 June 2014. Geoplin d.o.o. Ljubljana, Slovenian largest natural gas trader, continues to assure smooth and uninterrupted supply of natural gas to Slovenia despite the fact that Russia momentarily cut off supply to Ukraine. Geoplin’s security and flexibility of supply is based on different grounds: (i) long-term supply contract concluded directly with the Russian natural gas producer, (ii) long- and short-term supply contracts concluded with suppliers independent from Russian natural gas, (iii) purchases of natural gas at gas hubs, and (iv) storage capacities representing another source of natural gas also in times of temporary cut-offs. Geoplin thus expects to be able to meet contractual obligations towards its customers and ensure them smooth supply of natural gas, particularly to those with long-term supply contracts.
